Skiing
I spent the entire day today skiing in Isaberg together with my two sisters and my older sisters boyfriend. We mostly did slalom, but I accidentally made some short full speed downhill runs. The latter ones mostly ended up in me falling, and downhill was prohibited, so I hope no one noticed me. :P
I did fairly well, considering that last time I went skiing this way was in December 1996 in Storlien (website in Swedish only, as far as I could see), I’m twice as old as I was back then… (I might have spent one day on VallĂ„sen after that, but I don’t remember much of it… I know I’ve been there, but I don’t know if it was before or after Storlien.)
I knew I thought skiing was fun, but I didn’t remember much about HOW to do it. ;) After some warming up (just to remember stuff) in a green (very easy) piste, we thought it was time for a blue (easy) piste. However, we read the map wrong and ended up i a mix of black (hard) and red (medium) pistes, a thing we didn’t realize until afterwards. Anyway, I managed to get through those without falling. Beginners luck, I guess, because this was one of my “downhill” runs ;)
The rest of the day, we stayed in the red and blue pistes. The weather was great (around -3C, no wind), so I never got cold. (Except my toes in the beginning when I had my shoes too tight…)
All in all, I had a blast. It was even too fun (slalom) and exciting (downhill). I even thought it was fun when I fell :P
I want to do it again, preferably very soon. I just have to! ;)
