amaroK bugs, charsets and SVN

I did a lot today (considering that I had no school). I fixed two bugs in amaroK 1.4-SVN, one that made amaroK’s new collection scanner break with certain folder names (well, that was yesterday), and another one that made the same scanner get international characters all wrong on some systems.
That second one was a little tricky. The scanner’s output was using a charset which depended on the locale. The code to read the output always used ISO-8859-1. Not good. Now they both use UTF-8 instead, much better. Charsets are the gift from hell, though. Why can’t just everyone use UTF-8? :/
I also got myself an account for KDE’s SVN server(s), so I can commit my patches easier.

All in all, I was quite productive today. :)
